Let’s Learn to Swim
“Let's Learn to Swim” Training Course
The three-day practical training course for beginner swimming instructors is based on the swimming section of the elementary school physical education curriculum and the books *Let’s Learn to Swim* and *The Journey to Swimming Proficiency*. The training utilizes e-learning materials based on the “Let’s Learn to Swim” methodology (94 instructional videos, the e-book “The Journey to Swimming Proficiency,” and an e-swimming course that includes self-assessment tools). All training participants will receive both books to take home from the training.
The training provides beginner swimming instructors with practical guidance and methodological materials on how to conduct beginner swimming lessons and help students achieve swimming proficiency step by step, whether as part of a school’s physical education program or while teaching a swimming course. Upon completion of the three-day training, each participant will receive a certificate from the Estonian Swimming Federation (30 hours).
The following individuals are welcome to attend the training:
- Physical education teachers at schools who are already teaching or will begin teaching introductory swimming lessons at schools, or who assist a swimming instructor in conducting these lessons.
- Teachers who lead introductory swimming lessons in schools or assist a swimming instructor in conducting a lesson.
- Teachers who provide introductory swimming instruction in preschools or who will do so in the future.
- All individuals who, after completing the training, are prepared to instruct children in learning to swim during physical education classes or to assist the swimming instructor in conducting the class.
- This also includes everyone else who is not a teacher but is involved in organizing and conducting introductory swimming lessons.
